Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead and drive their human resources strategy. Reporting to senior management, this role will provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and support to the HR team while aligning HR initiatives with the firm’s objectives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with the firm’s overall goals, focusing on staffing, recruiting, retention, and organizational growth.
  • HR Policy & Program Development: Lead the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives aimed at enhancing day-to-day operations. Coordinate training programs, employee surveys, and other activities to support a positive workplace culture.
  • Comprehensive HR Management: Administer HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary processes, and employee relations. Address workplace disputes and investigations while fostering a supportive environment.
  • Recruitment & Talent Management: Oversee staffing efforts, including recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training. Develop and execute best practices for hiring, talent management, and retention to meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Performance & Development: Lead the firm’s performance management processes, including evaluations, career development initiatives, and professional training to promote continuous growth. Coordinate merit increases and recognition programs.
  • Compliance & Policy Maintenance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Regularly review and update HR policies and practices to maintain legal standards and adopt best practices.
  • Compensation & Benefits Oversight: Manage salary structures, payroll administration, and benefits programs, ensuring fair and competitive compensation. Address leave requests and manage related documentation.
  • Employee Relations & Support: Act as a resource for staff and management, addressing employee concerns, conducting investigations, and providing guidance on employment matters. Support a positive work environment through proactive conflict resolution.
  • Engagement & Office Visits: Regularly visit all office locations to maintain strong connections, understand local dynamics, and reinforce HR support.
  • Coordination with Senior Leadership: Work closely with senior management to understand organizational priorities, adapting HR practices to support the firm’s growth and operational efficiency.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other HR-related duties as needed to support the department and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or a related field preferred, or a minimum of three years in HR leadership roles.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and a compassionate approach to handling sensitive situations. Effective conflict resolution, organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information are essential.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with employment laws, HR best practices, and diversity initiatives. HR certification (e.g., SHRM) is preferred.
  • Commitment: Ability to work in-office is required.
  • Preferred Experience: Previous work in legal services or non-profit settings and membership in HR professional organizations are huge bonuses!
